Ingredients
- Karuvadu / Dried fish – 1/4 lb
- Shallot onion – 5 to 6
- Tomato – 1 big
- Green chilly -2
- Red chilly powder – 1 1/2 tsp
- Corriander powder – 2 tsps
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Fenu greek – 1/4 tsp
- Eggplant / Kathirikkai – 3 small
- Raw banana / vazhaikai- 1/2
- Drumstick / Murungaikai- 1
- Coconut – 4 tbsp
- Tamarind paste – 1/4 tsp
- Soak the dried fish in hot water and wash them neatly add some salt to the fish and wash well and keep aside.
- Heat oil in pan , pop mustard, fenugreek seeds and then the sliced shallot onions and fry until the onions are transparent. Now add the chopped tomato and all the masala powders , slit green chillies,tamarind juice and add enough water. Add all the vegetables. Cover and cook it until the vegetables are done.
- Grind the coconut into a smooth paste and add it to the boiling masala and add enough salt and cover the pan and cook it for another few minutes.
- Finally add the dried fish and stir it once and allow the fish to cook well. Once the oil starts to seperate from the gravy switch off the gas.
- This taste better the next day than the first day. Hope you all enjoy this.
